PRIORITY Project Capacity Building Workshop in Palermo
The second PRIORITY Capacity Building workshop took place at Palermo – Italy on 28th to 30th of October, hosted by project partner Centro Per lo Sviluppo Creativo Danilo Dolci. The three day workshop theme was focused on “How to become a PRIORITY Hub Super Hero”.
The first day activities started with a review of 1st Capacity Building Workshop from Larissa that was focused on understanding radicalization and how it connects with marginalisation and the presentation of the objectives of this 2nd CBA.
PRIORITY 2nd Capacity Building Objectives:
- How to approach youth at risk of marginalisation?
- Which are the instruments for youth workers to identify the main risks and barriers to social inclusion of young people in the local community?
- How to motivate young people at risk of marginalisation to participate and engage?
- How to create peer educators and multipliers among youth at risk of marginalisation?
The session continued with the participants’ presentations of three case studies about youth marginalisation and radicalisation in their neighbourhood, on the theme “Map your area: how to approach youth at risk of marginalisation?”
The 2nd day started with a theoretical session on the role of “The youth worker, how can youth workers work on behalf of social inclusion” and “Formal education / non formal education: an effective alliance for future youth educators”, then continued with practical and role playing activities on those themes.
The 3rd day session of the workshop was focused on interculturalism and cultural shock, as well as on the methodology of cultural shocks, how to work on intercultural relations, and finalised with the conclusions of the three days workshop.
The 3rd Capacity Building Workshop has been planned to take place in Dressden – Germany, on 2 to 4 of April 2020, being hosted by Jugend- & Kulturprojekt e.V. (JKPeV) at their headquarters.
